Geesbrug - Twaalf ellenweg
Eindeloos turen over de landerijen, wandelend over een oud zandpad.
De Twaalf ellenweg is een mooi lang zandpad, met rondom overzicht op de landerijen. Hierom ga ik er graag een stukje wandelen met de hond. Het is wel aardig rechttoe, rechtaan. Qua afwisseling wellicht geen winnaar, maar praktisch is het wel.
Je kan aan weerskant parkeren. Na een tiental meter wordt het geraas van de auto's langs de verlengde Hoogeveense vaart of de witte menweg al onderdrukt. Heerlijk rustig met een prachtig uitzicht.
Zoals gezegd is er weinig afwisseling. Het is namelijk 1 pad zonder veel aftakkingen. Zelf wandel ik hier wanneer de hond even goed moe moet worden. Door de lengte en overzichtelijkheid laat ik hem hier namelijk altijd los wandelen. Let daarbij wel op dat er nog aardig wat grote landbouwvoertuigen gebruikmaken van het pad. Het blijft dus een beetje opletten.
Na ongeveer 1-1.5km draai ik om en loop ik weer terug naar de auto. Een prima route om snel te zorgen dat de viervoeter zijn of haar energie weer kwijt kan.Een naaldbossen omringt door oude eiken. Het geraas van auto's en het gemis van wandelpaden.
